Michael Perron, Pharm.D, Ph.D.
Michael Perron has been working in the medical science liaison role with GSK vaccines since May 2017, covering regions in the Greater Toronto Area, Ottawa and Montreal.
Michael has a diverse educational background that includes both research and clinical experience. He first studied at McGill University, completing a B.Sc. in Biochemistry, and then jumped straight into a Ph.D in Pharmacology & Therapeutics, also at McGill.
His research at the Jewish General Hospital in Montreal offered him experience in drug development and immunology. Michael then switched gears into the clinical field at the University of Toronto, where he studied pharmacy and has graduated in 2017 with a Pharm.D. degree.
Along the way, Michael had the opportunity to work in several different pharmacy settings including direct patient care rotations in the cardiology department at North York General Hospital and the stroke rehab clinic at St Joseph’s Health Centre. His first taste of the pharmaceutical industry was in the medical affairs department at Sanofi Pasteur where he worked with vaccines.
Now, Michael supports the vaccines portfolio for GSK as he engages in scientific discussions with experts in the field.
